What?

Squadplay is an irregular small-scale Empires mod event where me and four other players meet up in a separate voice comms channel, join the same team and form a single squad. The goal of the event is to improve the participants' (and, by extension, the whole server's) level of play by promoting cohesion and teamwork.


Where?


We will be using the NUBS Empires Teamspeak for squad-level voice communications. TeamSpeak 3 is a free voice communication program, you can download it here.[teamspeak.com] You are required to be on our TeamSpeak.

We will be playing on the NUBS Main Empires Server. It should have enough population for us to be able to play together and not overwhelmingly stack one side.

When?


We will start at 7 PM GMT on Friday, 29th July. Click this Chronus link for a handy countdown.[a.chronus.eu] The times in different time zones are as follows:

• Noon (12 PM) PST
  
• 3 PM EST
  
• 7 PM GMT
  
• 8 PM BST
  
• 9 PM CEST
  
• 10 PM EEST
  
• 3 AM CST

We will warm up during the round that is going to run during the full hour, and squad up properly at the beginning of the next. We will play together at least for the next 2 hours, which means 3-5 rounds. If there is interest in playing more, we will keep going, but the baseline is 2 hours or 3 rounds, whichever ends first.


Who?


Anyone can participate. All you need to do is have Empires and TeamSpeak ready to go when the time comes. No prior experience is required. The purpose of this is to improve together, and that's what we'll do. A microphone to use in conjunction with TeamSpeak is welcome but not necessary.

Destroyer - excellent gameplay! There is ALOT that players of all stages can learn from watching the whole video. I remember watching a video like this when I was learning and thought "This guy never rests, always moving, always pushing" and it helped me learn to do the same. A new player should know that lieing down and firing is not as effective as aggressively pushing, but protecting yourself. Dodging in and out, everything done quickly, the many squad menus popping are FSD, FSA - which every squad leader does without looking at the menu options. Very well done and I think educational for anyone who wants to get guud.
