that's exactly why. unlike you, most people don't give it a first chance to begin with
To be or not to be. That is the question.
Because i don't want to spend 9 euros on it. I would totally get it otherwise.

average graphics, too expensive, bad reputation of 'empty servers'.
They should somehow make it f2p because a 'real time strategy fps' game is something new and really fun to play and more people should try it out

lol you guys are cheap, this gmae isnt that much
I actually found you can trade 1 key for this game, totalling about 1.8 euros if the key was bought in the steam market. I might get it, i liked it on the free weekend, played like 10+ hours in 2 days :P

It's a cool game, concept and everything, put about 40 hours into it. But it has many flaws which prevent me from playing it more often:
- Turrets. They are damn OP. Even one turret could be a problem for a squad of 2-3 people. But turrets are spammable! It's really frustrating. They are absolutely not fun to play against. Even if you have EMP and siege exo, it's still not east to take well positioned turret. Turrets are simple not fun to fight against.
- OP nades and nade spam. Frags oneshot most of the classes. You can kill whole damn army with this. BBQ with bunny get 4 frags and 4 gas. Good god supply stations don't repelnish nades quickly, but hey, you can always die and have you nades back within 5 seconds.
- Snipers. It's a problem for any game where snipers are present - snipers are simply not fun to play against. It's just some dude hiding on the other side of the map that oneshots you. Snipers do not contribute to objective, they don't cap points, they don't destroy building. Just making this game even more frustrating. Oh, and don't forget inivisible ones.
- Commander ability to oneshot anyone anywhere. Nuff said. This is frustrating.
- Field players not absolutely not involed in RTS. They can't help build anything, they can't build they own strucures. Commander might research advanced weapons and infantry upgrades, but hey, you can get those just by spamming nades...
- Too simple tech tree. One research, one building, one more research and you got eveything you need to win the game. I'm just not happy thaht one research unlocks all the stuff. Would me much cooler if commander had to decide what kit goes first - flamer or railgun, maybe sabotage. But unlocking everything is just meh... you know, gotta go deeper.
- Support class is too OP generally.

tl;dr:
- Structure and grenade spam.
- Too many oneshot deaths.
- Class imbalance.
- RTS aspect and it's integration into FPS wrold is not deep enough.

Hope they will go for ND2 and make it less frustrating and more deep.

^ i like this
It is funny how the trools with little or no game time think you know every thing about a game. Give it a chance at least. Or maybe you need learn how to game better. Or maybe you collect games and dont really know how to games at all....lol...under your bridge I say, back under you bridge.

the game is good if u can get past the cons
Nothing is really sticky for folks not fan of the genre. I like this and didnt even play it since purchase.
Also, no french localization?

- Little awareness. A free weekend and TF2 hat would give it some spotlight and help get more players.
- Little promotion. Maybe indies could cross-promote each others' games, giving their users coupons for partners' games and have it reciprocated. Food for thought.

Little promotion? ND was ona free weekend, 75% off sale, bunch of indie bundles, it had guest passes and free copies for evey owner.
Then think of it as "whatever was done before should be done again", and keep the expectation activity will again die down if that aspect is not approached differently.
The first half of a match is a lot of fun, but my experience is that a better commander on one side will lead to better use of turrets which almost always leads to a one-sided end-game. Not all matches are like this but that seemed to be the general way things went; the first half is won by the people on the ground, and the second half is won by the commander who makes best use of their resources e.g. turret placement, communication etc.

I don't think the community died because of the game's flaws, I think it died because the market is over-saturated with interesting multiplayer games right now. Most people probably got into other games and came back to find ND dead so they just uninstalled. I'll miss it.

Last I heard, the developers are working on a side-scroller survival horror and it looks interesting so far. Check out Introversion's page and let them know you want more ND while you're at it.
Frosty....friend me and I'll give you a cd key.....
