Sad Nuclear Dawn
I really like this game, but its so sad that nearly no one plays it. I think this game is totally underrated. Maybe a lower price, or some advertising would help, but this game should get a second chance, imho.

Will people PLEASE stop posting this! admittedly the community is small however I was playing last night with 1 full server and 1 half full one.

Threads on this:
plus others.

As for keeping it going, please see mine and plumb's post here:

One and a half?! really ?! omg thats like 15 server too less. Just saying what im thinking
Sexy Iron Maiden Mar 16, 2013 @ 4:27pm
sure.... why would you need more than 1 server? there is only 1 game mode (well only one that is fun anyway) unless you want to play the same map over and over.... Im not saying that the game is thriving im just saying that if you want to play there are plenty enough people to play with

maybe i want to play with some germans ? on a german or europe server with a normal ping ? with a ping better than 100+ on US servers or russian "what ever" servers people only speaking some funny languages?? really, one server is like no server
Sexy Iron Maiden Mar 16, 2013 @ 5:29pm
I'm obviously not going to convince you but it depends on what time you come one, there is a
German server and a couple of other eu ones. And on the US servers I get a ping of 110 with is more than playable (this isnt a game that needs twitch reflexes). If you dont want to play that's up to you but I play this game every day normally in a full server. and tbh I cant tell the difference between servers apart from the odd minor server tweaks.

im just saying what ive experienced.

If a game has one server it's pretty much dead. I agree with yuno die. We should have a free to play weekend and maybe a 33% off sale or something. That would get people to start playing. This game is really fun and I would love to see more people playing it.

Yea thats what im saying :) thx shurfire

but i really understand what sexy iron maiden is trying to say.
If we post threads like this in the forums of Nuclear Dawn, people wont buy it after they saw these threads. But its unfair, it wont get better if we would not say this. Example:

5 people see these threads. 3 of them dont buy it caused by that. 2 people see servers are really empty, they leave too.

Other case : 5 ppl buy. see empty servers, then they leave too.

so nothing would changed.

what ND needs is a dramatically push, like F2P or free keys or what ever.

I played this game quite a lot. I just got so many other games to play, but I might be interested in joining up again if someone was interested in doing some (serious) teamplay.

Baherain, go on the xG (redstone) server. Usually a large teamwork bias there. I'm on normally after 6pm GMT

I played this for a while last year, it was a pretty good game, they even sent me a free copy to give away for some reason, which I did, but the other person didnt like it. Its not often I even check the servers nowadays, but when ever I do, its usually not very busy, and most games I connect to dont connect, just sit there loading for ever. Truth is, the game gets old after 20 hours play. Im not sure why CS had me playing for hundreds/thousands of hours (maybe because that was 15 years ago), and this was only about 40. I think the best thing they could do with this game is make it FREE, attract some attention, then put out a number 2 with more maps, more modes, and maybe a few new abilitys for the men, also, what would (in my opinion) make it better would be if there were 2 second comanders who controlled say 10 bots each like the old flash point game.

the community is small and the game prematurely on "life support" because it fails during the moments between "first impression" and "consideration". People were not talking strictly from their butts when they complained of the typical pace and scenario. To better explain, and from my personal account with two etqw clans I pitched nuclear dawn to, we liked immediately the assymetrical and symmetrical teams to map factors, classes having vital roles, and all around complexity of play. Beyond that, the game turns very sour very fast. The game dulled into a drawn out impending defeat for the side that could not complete obvious objectives before the other team. This was not 100% always the case but for the player that is sampling the gameplay amidst a sea of crowded fps, it happened too often. The initial experience was commonly disappointment for those who stuck it out past the presentation of veneer and promise. This was the case, also, for every steam friend and clan mate (around 20 people) that I pitched the game to while it was in infancy and then again months later (different steam account).

Nobody enjoyed the typical dead horse flogging each match deteriorated into, I didn't like it, and it was mentioned time and time again by other players with similar experiences. One or two solid matches with exciting moments should not come at the cost of playing hours of terrible one sided matches beforehand.

I am not sure what the situation is now but the game failed miserably to deliver a quality pub experience even for those capable and willing to pace through the learning curve. Relying on clan support probably opens a different view of Nuclear Dawn but that is just one of several points to make to win players over and anybody else who turned away before 10 hours of play cba to reinstall for second chances.

The game has itself to blame and those having a good experience were vastly outnumbered by those met with off-putting lopsided dull matches.
