Is it framerate or latency? If it's latency you need to connect to a server that is hosted closer to you.

If it's the framerate: The alternate zombie vision often causes performance issues. Make sure you got the right one enabled (look in the multiplayer options menu).

Try using old zombie vision. It's by default the L key I think. You can also turn it on in options under multiplayer->advanced.
