try running it in compatibility mode (Windows Vista or XP) if you havn't already.
I'm sorry that you're having these issues, and you're ridiculous for not wanting to even try to fix this issue. Every system runs into issues with some games now and then - that's just how PC gaming is. You must be new if you don't know that.
Drivers all up to date, as I said, any and all new games and almost every old game run perfectly well.
If my thread title insulted some Win7 users, please accept my apology.
I messed around with games on DOS and may have gotten lazy in the last couple of years.
Thx for not posting anything relevant. Please stay out of my light in the future.
Baldurs Gate, FTL, Legend of Grimrock, Arma 3, Witcher 2, X3AP etc - my Steam library offers some variety. Big, small, old or new games start and play. Shadowrun Returns had its problems at release, but it started...EA C&C RA3 title from 2008 does not? Needs system tweaking? Not acceptable. My opinion folks and I shall not explain it any more to vigilists :)
That doesn't mean that the game is broken for all people using that operating system.
Your claim is right there in case you don't remember what you've been saying.
It is not about tweaking the game dude. Maybe you should play more and bother less about defending a software which seems sloppily coded or badly supported.
Edit: if this was not an internet forum but a pub I might even be scared. My claim? Is right there...yes. Quality for customers, like me and you. Maybe if this was a pub you would not have called me ridiculous, who knows. Over a beer or two you might even listen and consider my opinion. Let us be good and call this off, please?
It's people like you that give PC gaming a bad rap. You act like a few modifications and tweaks is an arcane incantation that a lord such as yourself shouldn't have to stoop to on his glowing box of perfection.
Your ultimate response is a long winded version of "fight me irl". Your post is flatly wrong - the game does work on Windows 7. It's akin to a spoiled journal entry moaning about having to tighten a few screws.
I have many, many problems with EA and with poor software in general. But what I have more of a problem with is people making out their own personal software issues to be something huge when it's their stubborness that's the mountain.
Not sure if you can help me but thought I'd ask since many of you have run this in Win7. I'm dying to play this game but I keep getting the DirectX Error on start up of the game.
"please make sure you have DirectX9.0 or higher installed. Also verify that your video card meets the min requirements, and that you do not have hardware acceleration disabled in the Display control panel."
So far I've been able to run all my Steam games with with no problem except this one. I have DirectX11 & all drivers are up to date. I've tried a few updates or tweeks suggested in another chat but still no luck....
Any ideas guys?
Thanks so much, I really appreciate any suggestions. :oD
