are you serious in asking if you'll go insane, its just a game :)

i've played all three of those games and this is similarly scary.

the game is more like metro given its a linear story compared to the openworld of stalker. the story in metro is better and artyom's character in is more highly developed than isaac's in deadspace. metro has more "soul" so to speak. 3rd person vs 1st person is a big difference between deadspace and metro/stalker. the 1st person shooter mechanics are a lot better (imho).

deadspace is good, but metro and stalker are more epic imho. it's still free on origin and that certainly is a great deal!
This is one of the scariest games i have ever played...
Really scary... I just met a big monster on the ship bridge (chapter 4) and after seeing that horrible death, I'm not sure I'll be able to sleep tonight.

I think that one's called a Brute, they're tough but its back is a weak spot.

Yes, it is because the video communication told me how to beat it but it was very "brutal". I was stuck behind a glass wall trying to change weapon because I was low on ammo and the monster smashed it, lifted me up and broke my body into two pieces while I was yelling. I admit I was a little too immersed into the game. It was since I played Condemned: Criminal Origins that I didn't feel like that. :)
I've watched myself get gored by the Hunter quite a few times, just awful :)

believe it or not, the best weapon to use against the Brutes is the Line Gun's primary fire (especially if it's maxed-out and you have plenty of Stasis)

Well, I found out that the monster follows you when you get too near and it walks away when you retreat so with some stasis and, believe or not, flamethrower, I got rid of it without any problem.
I'm with sgt.nukem on the linegun, I usually use that against them.

The Brute backs off if you retreat? I'll have to try that. Maybe they're related to the Librarians in post-apocalyptic moscow :)
I thinks its similar to metro, it is scary/unsettling, it has its very creepy moments and some jump scares but its not something so scary that you wont be able to play it, like lets say, amnesia the dark descent.

However, if you start this game and you do NOT finish it, you WILL go insane and probably end up in a mental institute, it may even make members of your family turn into necromorphs, beware. So if you decide to press the start button, be sure to finish it for your own good.

Yes, I confirm that. The first time you encounter the brute (the command station with flying asteroids), try to outrun the brute and go down the stairs (those with the "save" console). The strategy now is: climb up the stairs, go straight on, wait until the brute pops out of the corner trying to get you with its powerful fists and retreat down the stairs as soon as you can. The brute will turn and go back to its "lair" so you can fire the flamethrower (or whatever weapon works). Get the timing right then rinse and repeat until dead (the brute or you, ha ha). I trashed a lot of ammo before finding out this strategy. I found out that the pulse gun works fine as well and, when firing this weapon, the brute stops its advance and protects itself from the blasts, crawling to the ground... Turning the monster into a kitten. :D

No.... it will not make you go insane, infact about 30mins into the game it just gives up being scary and just turns into an action game in a creepy spaceship.
I haven't noticed anything scary about this game. It kinda feels like Mass Effect, graphics and some of the mechanics.
