Oh Mass Effect, such nostalgia. It's been nearly 8 years since the initial launch of Bioware's Space Epic and to this day the industry is still learning from it. Mass Effect 2 brought serious improvements to the ME universe however the original Mass Effect is a classic. The Morality system where a player could either become a Paragon (Good) or a Renegade (Bad) was similar to the likes of the Good and Evil system of games like Fable however it actually awarded the player with satisfaction. Everything decision point, it actually effected how you played the game.
The planet exploration system in Mass Effect has and always will be amazing, roaming planets with the Mako Rover was fun but awkward at times due to the mechanics however this was improved vastly in Mass Effect 2. When using the Mass Relay system to teleport from one relay to another you would get a decent animation that was followed by a stunning central planet followed by it's surrounded plants. The galaxy's that filled the space in between were stunning as well, with a high fidelity of stars and more it was a sight for the eyes that I have not forgotten to this day.
Actual combat was fairly decent however again it was massively improved in Mass Effect 2. If you ever need a great game or series to play, something you plan to put at least a hundred plus hours into, the Mass Effect trilogy is a great option however I suggest you prepare yourself for the ending of Mass Effect 3, don't say I didn't warn you about that one. If this game's on sale for $4.99 or even $19.99 BUY IT and the other two Mass Effect games as well (Mass Effect 3 is only available on Origin sadly, thanks EA).
