The gameplay in 1 isn't great, but that picks up alot in the 2nd and 3rd. I would still recommend playing the first one as the story is superb and choices follow through the series.
Power through you won't regret it.

The Mass Effect series is literally one of the best group of games to ever have been created. That isn't speculation or opinion. Mass Effect is up there along with The Elder Scrolls and Fallout for the best Western RPGs of all time.

Setting the bar pretty low, there, aren't we?

Elder Scrolls and the modern Fallout games are extremely shallow sandbox games that barely even qualify as RPGs.

The Elder Scrolls and Fallout are of the most successful non-FPS franchises in the US.

I never said they weren't.
Success does not equate to quality.

More to the point, "non-FPS" does not equate to RPG.

I love this game though! Yes, there may not be as much in terms of gameplay, but the story is just brilliant and remember it is the 1st of 3, where the Geth threat is only just beginning so there wouldn't be much conflict until later in 2 and 3. Also you have to assemble your team together.

Non-FPS does not equate to RPG, I'll give you that. However, in good ol' 'Merica, there is essentially only FPS, RPG, MOBA, and MMOs. Since TES and Fallout are most definitely not MMO or MOBA, they almost automatically qualify as RPG. Additionaly, there is no "barely qualifies as an RPG". A game is either a genre or not. Saying that games like Skyrim and Fallout 3 are "barely RPGs" is like saying that Star Wars: Republic Commando is "barely" a Tactical Squad-Based FPS, or that Assassins' Creed is "barely" a single-player action/adventure. There is no gray area with these things. A game can have elements of other genres, but the game in and of itself is still its genre.

I don't like how many of the dialog options have the same result, no matter what you choose.
Also you can't even decide if you want a character to join you or not, they join you anyways.
Also the inrerior is pretty boring and seems halfassed. The Gameplay isn't very tactical and also seems a bit stupid. And story has not complished the make me care.
