Fatal Crash
I have a serious problem. When doing the assignment "Besieged Base", as soon as I kill the last biotic terrorist the game freezes. I have to restart my computer every time and I don't know how to fix this. Can someone explain please? I don't want to uninstall this game, I love it.

Try reloading from a previous save or running it in windowed mode.

Thank you very much. Luckily I figured out my problem literally 5 minutes later.

How did you fix it? Windowed mode doesn't work. Reloading doesn't work. I've had this problem for years now.

I have found one thing that finally allowed me to finish this mission without a crash. After trying multiple things I ended up having all my graphic settings set to minimul, in other words, low res setting, no dyn shadows, no motion blur... everything minimum, and in windowed mode...(res was still at 1920x1080 mind you... still had same issue. Then saw someone mention on a forum to open the games config (the one in the Binaries folder) and click on repair... in repair click the option to "Delete local shader cache". Didn't want to chance it after clicking that and left settings at minum and was finally able to complete the quest, saved afterwards when i left the building and re-turned graphics back up to max and away I went.

I hope this helps someone else, heck... this might even help with other crash areas... but who knows.

Kinda having constant crashes on my PC as well and did this, but it's not fixing a thing. I'm still in the Citadel and it crashes with some weird DX9 graphical error from time to time. I even have done the consort's quest and right after the dialogue with her the whole game semi-freezes (no UI or movememnt but ESC gives the UI sound).

My guess is that by now the game is 'too old' to run well on 'modern PCs'. Good thing Ih ave this game for the PS3 as well so I guess I'll have to play it there...

[EDIT] I tried to set special conditions for ME and found out that Origin by default installs it in WinXP compatible mode and run as Admin. Unchecking these 2 options gave me a full hour of undisturbed gameplay - not a singe crash or hangup! Not sure if Steam gives the same defaults to the game...
