What on Earth is the bottleneck here?!
Hey guys,

I am at my wits end.

I have 2 GTX 580s in SLI (ie. CRUSH this game) and I am getting under 60 frames and as low as 30 in some places.

It's only utilizing ~50% off both cards with Supersampling on but I can't for the life of me figure out why...

I am using both an Afterburner and Windows 8s AWESOME CPU/RAM graphs and they are at around 50% and 65% utilization respectively.

Not only that but my 3GB cards are not even breaking a sweat with Afterburner showing both cards using under 1GB VRAM each...

Please help.

Disable PhysX in game.

Hey Hunter thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately after a Google search, I tried that but it does nothing to my card usage whatsoever. It is a bottleneck plain and simple, but I can't work out what is causing it!

What happends when you run it in compatabillity mode?
Try new drivers?

Hi Fap thanks for the suggestions.

I tried running in compatibility mode just then and it had no effect whatsoever on my card usage.

I don't have this problem with any other games, I was running Black Ops 2 maxed out @ 120fps last night no worries so I don't wanna mess with my drivers but thanks for the suggestion.

If it helps, the times it dips to ~30 are when there is a lot of smoke/steam on the screen.

that sounds like a directx issue my friend im guessing youre running a 64 bit, like windows 8? i have a similar issue with alot of games that rely on 9, i run 10 and 11. because of that rtcw is virtually unplayable. i feel your pain. lol, hell have the games ive bought via steam wont run on this damn thing. i hope you figure it out, im not sure if i helped much. see if you can force M.E. to run under 10 or 11, im pretty sure it was still a dx9 game

it's not a bottleneck, it's called an old 360 game that isn't optimized for current hardawre... just like GTA4. until they patch it to optimize it(won't happen) you could play it on H.A.L. and your framerate would still blow.

Hey guys thanks for your replys.

Yep Grimm spot on, 8 64bit right here, I guess I am stuck with it then DANG.

Badseed I don't think that is exactly correct because I have had it working with 95%+ card usage on both before it's only when I try to use Supersampling that the bottleneck (which isn't a bottleneck after all, its a DX issue) rears its ugly head. Awesome 2001 joke though.

Well I will stop trying now and just enjoy it at what quality I can get away with and my 580s can waste away while sobbing quietly.

Thanks for everyones help.
