I've heard of deleting certain physx .dll files in the binaries folder of the game. How would I use the latest version of physx for the game?
By getting the latest drivers and/or check in your nvidia properties>system info>components. I personally have 09.13.0725. and my GTX 460 OC is playing fine with physx.
Just get Geforce Experience, set it, and forget it.
2. Also delete the physxlocal directory inside that same binaries folder. These files are an older version of physx the game defaults to, and if it isn't there then it'll use whichever version you have installed on your system.
3.Make sure you did NOT delete or rename physXextensions.dll
^ quote from the sticky of the old steam forums. If you still wanted the Physx fix. Usually fixes slideshow fps during glass breaking scenes. As for the smoke though, not sure if that's even under physx but then again, smoke is always an fps killer in most games.
