Game crashes whenever I launch it

When I run the game, it exits out and says "mirrors edge has stopped working", forcing me to close the program. How do I fix this? I'm on Windows 8 if anyone needs to know.

Did that, and the result was the same problem.

Considering this is just another generic, "my game is crashing on startup" thread, no. If you want more help then the already said fixes then you need to specify what you've already tried, otherwise you'll just keep getting the same old answers.
