Crysis not working on Windows 8
Got a new computer for Christmas, and it works great but UNFORTUNATELY, IT HAS WINDOWS 8.
I bought a bunch of games on it and the whole reason I wanted the computer was to finally play games like Crysis. (Dead Space 1 and 2 work, audiosurf works, TF2 Works, Amnesia works, and so does GMod.)
When I open up Crysis I get the full black screen, then it goes out of full screen and a message pops up, "Crysis has stopped working"
It won't let me change compatability modes. What do?

I don't want to burst your bubble for blaming Win 8 but I ran crysis on both 32bit and 64bit win8 and it works fine for me. It sounds like you are having problems with your driver or something else that are elusive. I've encountered a problem with EDID with my monitor couple weeks ago where Crysis locked the FPS to 30 but I quickly fixed it by forcing Vsync thru my driver settings (AMD catalyst).
As far as I remember, the capability mode is blank on win8 so you can't change it like you would in other OS version. I suggest researching your message popup and write down the error rather than just blaiming the entire OS.

God damn it. Just gave up on Assassins creed Revelations because of their crappy uplay/update system crashing all the time. This was supposed to be my 'lets play something else' game..... Will go hit google, god bless pc gaming *shudders but know's its ultimately worth it*

Jesus Crist!!!
Update your GPU drives!
If Nvidia Just type in your card go to website DONE.
You don't need fixies for Crysis.
It's like battlefield for instance, untill you download new drivers for windows 8 your not allowed to play.
Collin update then go to C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Crysis and there is the .EXE right click properties/compatbilitys can to windows 7 done.
If that doesn't work, check your update for your computer ect.

Just make sure you download the right drivers. Nvidia or ATI- 32/64 bit. I have windows 8 64bit. Crysis didnt work for me at first either. Then I downloaded the 64 bit drivers for my card and it works fine now.

I'm running Crysis on WIndows 8 Professional (64 bit). First I got a blank screen too but after closing the process that was stuck I could start normal. The only thing I did not was to install this Gamespy crap. Maybe this is the reason why it's not working for some.
