''Cannot find the Hi-rez installation''

When i try to start the game at steam this message appears, every time, what that means?

And if i try to start from
Program Files(x86)>Steam>steamapps>common>Tribes>Binaries>Win32>TribesAscend.exe it says ''failed to find default engine.ini file to retrieve My Documents subdirectory to use.Force quitting''

HI, I had the exact same problem but after a fast search on the forums i found this and it works for me at least. Hope it works for you too.

I just had the same error message and I found that doing the following has fixed it.

Go into the Steam install directory for Tribes, and run the Hi-Rez "InstallHirezService.exe" located in the Tribes\Binaries\Redist folder. The full directory address for my steam install for Tribes Ascend is this: "C:\Program Files\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\tribes\Binaries\Redist"
Once you run the program, if it asks if you want to uninstall the program, select yes. Then when its done, run it again, to re-install the Hi-Rez Service software.

Mine won't work either. I love this game and am very unhappy it won't play anymore. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I've had this problem before, I solved it by using these steps.

0) Uninstall non-Steam T:A (you may want to delete manually all remaining files ; killing a Hirez-related Windows service will be necessary. Windows will tell you)
1) Go to \Steam\SteamApps\common\tribes\Binaries\Redist
2) Launch InstallHirezService.exe
2') (If it displays something about updating, agree and launch it again.)
3) If it displays something about uninstalling something, agree.
4) Launch Tribes Ascend from your library.
5) Prerequisites install properly, game starts.

Hope it works for you too. :)

Otherwise, if those steps are similar to what you already have done (they seem like) search for anything on your computer with hi-rez or hirez (delete it all) and install it completely again (It's a free game, so there's no problem in wiping it all out)
