When does this game actually start to get interesting?
I've been playing around with the assault class for around two hours now, and so far, I find myself a bit bored.
The game feels a bit slow paced, and this is probably just me, but so far I get the impression that the developers were not so much attempting to blend fps and rpg but more likely undecided on which genre to go with.
So, I'm wondering, does the pacing improve at some point or is this just not my kind of game?

The desert missions are fluff. The meat of the game is in PvP which is, hands down, THE most fun, balanced, strategic and varied PvP I have ever seen in gaming. Unfortunately the game is close to dying and PvP matches aren't that common anymore, especially if you're under level 30. You can try queuing for PvE (spec ops) missions and raids, though. They're reasonably fun.

They are working on GA2 which IMO can only be fantastic. GA was their first game ever and it's damn impressive. Any advancement on that could only be good.

matter of personal opinion really.

For those that choose not to deal with childish, unnecessary, attempts to insult people: there's the ever reliable PvE gratification. Which is the real heart of the game, if you wanna get technical.

If by PVE you mean the dungeon isntances and the raids I would agree, I never enjoyed PVP much and AVA always had cheaters in it. But PVE I went through all 4 classes doing nothing but PVE and Raids when they first came out, I still loved it. Dome Defense Raids are still my favorite part of the whole game.

Now the Deserts on the other hand..... are completely forgetable and a very very late game addition when they went free to play to appeal to more WoW like players. So its kinda half-baked and did not add much to the game. It could easily be removed and I would still love GA for its PVE instances and Raids (if the servers were still populated).

GA is a PvP game and never had a PvE focus. People just had no patience to get good at PvP, that's why they are choosing PvE over it. Shooting robots 24/7 DOES get repetetive and it doesn't really take any effort to kill Robots that almost run into your bullets automatically. I see so many PvE players, and when they get into the Virtual Reality arena, they have like NO chance against other players because they're not even used to more agile, accurate and intelligent opponents. They get killed 2 or 3 times, and BAM you can watch them flying out of the arena with regeneration on, and leave the VR Arena. In my opinion, that's the kind of players that don't like to lose or "can't" lose, so they just ragequit. They don't even bother "touching" PvP, because if you leave, you get a deserter penalty that doesn't let you play any game mode except AvA for 15 minutes. So PvErs, why not man up a bit more, join the PvP queue and just fight back, no matter how many times you die? You guys think you're starting off as insta-pro's, which is logically not the case. I was a casual player for a long time myself, got into AvA and that made me turn into a PvP player. Try it, PvP is awesome. And NO, the matches are NO LONGER filled up with hackers, and for the recon part of the PvErs that ever tried to play stealth recon in PvP, they don't hack because opposing recons can see you stealthed when they have their visual scanner on. That way I got accused of hacking so many times, and funnily it was always a PvE player. So pre-judging PvP to be only played by hackers, is complete nonsense. Fight back, stop caring about how many times you died (since you don't lose any win bonus), and taking PvP so seriously.

Supposition, your presuming that your opinion expands to everyone around you which is just plain wrong. I played PVP and AVA, Would usually get top or second top in my respective catagory (ie heals, objective, damage). I still have a 4.5 combat rating but I never liked PVP or AVA its just not my blood. Some people just dont like going up against other people in symetrical fights to prove who has the biggest E-peen. I'd rather work WITH them to overcome clearly onesided fights (IE instances and raids). It requires the same level of effort to be good at both PVP or PVE, its just matter of preference.

It eventually got boring for the lot of us, it was a few months after the second Sona desert that I just got bored and left. Still an amazing game but they really needed to focus on more PVE and PVP content and less open world nonsense, I mean years without any new content for the classes no new skills or tools, it just gets dull even though it is still amazing.

what game doesnt get borring after awhile. All im saying is I had tons of fun with the pvp back in the day. They added a whole other sector in a patch to try and bring people back but once you hit that max lvl it just got borring.

I guess, from a PVE persective I held on a lot longer because I still enjoyed Dome Defense Raids. It was bascially a show of skill and was one of the more challenging PVE gametypes, even though I had all 50's at that point It was still enjoyable. If they had added more skills and weapons to the conquest gear I would of held out for much longer.

Then again a level cap raise with new skills, new raids, and new PVE enemy types would have extended the life a lot more than just a few new conquest toys.
