Help! Game flashes intermittently
After the game is running it flashes the screen intermittently making it impossible to play. Has anyone else seen this and is there a fix or workaround?

There seems to be a bit of workaround, but it depends on windows type, hardware config, etc. Somewhere in the link I posted are few pieces of advice about flashing screen. Hope it helps.

I too have the flashing screen and nothing I have found seems to help except running in a window. Even then the UI is painfully sluggish and I get crashes due to access violation in some dll or other.

edit: found some advice bizarrely that fixed the flashing in full screen mode: exiting task manager. Bizarre. Game still runs at 15 fps or worse though. I can't be bothered with it. Waste of money.

edit2: still flashes sometimes even with the no task manager "fix". getting 5 frames per second with dialogs up. Painful.

AND IT'S SUCH A GREAT GAME. It's so annoying it doesn't run well enough to put up with.

Hey, is this some kind of joke? I checked the link you provided...

"7. White flashing during the game."

"This is caused by old video drivers that are not compliant with DirectX 8 or DirectX 9. You should download and install the latest drivers for your video card."

With such outdated advices, their troubleshooting FAQ is worthless.

When I searched online a while back they said to turn off clear type text in the windows settings. That solved all my problems right there.

Anyone have a list of the fixes from that thread? Dont feel like reading through all of it and picking and choosing as I hit them in the thread. I already tried safe video memory and that didnt help, did specify to use display1 of 2 and that forced it into windowed mode even though it was set to 1920, that removed the flashing but now its in a fairly small window
