A mediocre first person shooter.
Fighting mytholiogcal creatures in modern day new york is a neat idea, but stale execution defeats the purpose.
Lots of monster boxes. Weak and ineffectual guns. Invisible walls galore. Highly linear. Decent (for late 2000s) presentation. You end up holding "E" to opem doors (sorry, bypass) with alarming frequency. A trope festival. In the short time I played I had: Escaped a burning building tutorial. Be told what to do by a voice with an internet connection. Ran from enemies I couldn't hurt for some reason, but will inevitably fight them later. Crawled through air vents. Had my progress blocked by knee high debris. Had debris magically cleared. Collected data pads. Got stuck in an elevator while an enemy clawed at me. Turned valves to put out fire. Had a PMC attack me for nebulous reasons. Jumped on crates and solved a physics puzzle involving barrels weighing down a platform.
Its not terrible, but it isn't particularily well done either.
If you are desperate for a FPS you could do worse...but there is a lot better out there.
