F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin continues off the time-frame of the first, however this time around you no longer play as Point Man, but instead take on the role of Michael Becket of Delta force squad. The game delves deeper into the uncanny story based around Alma by taking the player all the way back to where it all began, hence the name "Project Origin".
This sequel is a prime example of a hit and miss game. It improves upon some things the original F.E.A.R. lacked, while at the same time taking two steps back on some things it did great.
You can expect more varied level settings, more types of enemies, and more Alma with all the supernatural events she brings along with her. The graphics are vastly improved too.
Like the first, Project Origins presents an unsettling atmosphere, but the horror while there, turns stale rather quickly, because of the abundance and over use of it while also feeling forced for no apparent reason. The gameplay also takes on a more modern generic feel opting out the lean cover mechanic and adds iron sights (ADS) with other various modern gun mechanics.
Overall I would have to recommend Project Origin, if not for its continuation of the intriguing story of Alma despite gameplay feeling disappointing at times. 7/10
