Cuz' I've been trying for hours to play the game with my PS4 Controller, but no mather what I try to do. I just cant seem to get any respone ingame.
The controller seems to work fine in the big picture mode, I even got a Controller Configuration setup for Fear ''F.E.A.R 2 for DualShock4 (By Atem S)''

Anyone had the same problem? How did you fix it? Please help!

You can try opening Steam in Big Picture mode and go to controller configuration and enable the config for your type of controller (Xbox, PS4, etc) and if there is a profile, Steam will automatically load it when the game is launched (you'll see a little pop-up notification). If there isn't one you can create your own config for it. No need to use Pinnacle or other software unless you just prefer it. Similar to those programs, the profiles can cause weird conflicts with some games that already have native controller support, so something to keep in mind in case you notice weird stuff in other games with the controls. Just disable the config if that happens.

You also do not need to run Steam in BigPicture all the time if you prefer the desktop version of it. Just need to go into BigPicture to enable/disable/setup the configs.

I tried using big picture mode to bind them to my xbox controller, but because no one online that i saw has properly translated the xbox controls to the pc one, it's like decoding rocket science

You can try using my shared controller profile. It's for the steamdeck w/gyro but should work with xbox controllers too. Only thing you'd want to change is the left bumper. Make it a middle mouse click so it brings up the weapon select menu since now that's mapped to the left rear button.

It uses d-pad: up=flashlight, down=health, left=cycle grenades, right=cycle weapons,
Y=slowmo, long-press-right-stick=weapon mode. Everything else is intuitive.

It unfortunately has an annoying problem when you open the menus you have to jiggle the right stick every so often to get control. Someone please fix if they know how, but otherwise it totally playable with a controller and if you have gyro it's fantastic.
