Everyday Shooter

Is this a virus?
I've been using Bitdefender Total Security for many years and this is the first time I've had the antivirus delete the .exe because it detected it as a virus. Regardless if it is a false positive, what in the world is in that .exe to trigger it off as a virus in the first place? Anyways, I am at a loss as to the "why" its being detetected as a virus. Until this gets resolved by the creators of ES, I have no choice but to ignore this game. 0/10

Never had issues with MSE. Sounds like your antivirus is♥♥♥♥♥♥if it would do that.

Bitdefender is regarded as the best antivirus program available. So its NOT the antivirus. Its my first time a game off of Steam can't run because the .exe gets deleted by Bitdefender. And I have more games than the average person... TONS.

I've encountered the same problem, and I use F-Secure Antivirus, not Bitdefender. Technical Support couldn't figure it out for me, so I still haven't been able to play this game.
I've heard that some of SDL's libraries is detected as virus for no legitimate reason whatsoever by a few antiviruses, so I'm guessing the antivirus is being hyperactive and stupid.

same problem here with advanced systemcare

It appears that Everyday Shooter may actually be malware. I'm getting a refund.

It comes up in Bitdefender as: Gen:Variant.Symmi.3915

...sure it is. Or maybe it's just antiviruses being stupid about SDL.

Regardless, Bitdefender, F-Secure and advanced systemcare are having the same problems.

Can't even install the game. The instant its on my computer, its gone.

I also have other SDL based games that don't encounter this problem.

The Walking Dead
Penubra series
World of Goo

So what is up with this game?

World of Goo ran without problems on my PC too. I played Everyday Shooter on a friend's laptop that used F-Secure and there were no problems at all. I have NO idea what to do at this point.

The problem is your antivirus is a virus itself.... All you need is Microsoft Security Essentials.
