Black Screen With Map Displayed

When I start up a new game, the opening cut scene plays, and once the game starts I can hear the stranger move around and jumping. I can also see the minimap in the lower left corner, and I can bring up the pause menu and the inventory menu. Any ideas?
For reference I'm playing at max settings if it's a video issue.

This was happening to me as well. I managed to fix it by lowering the resolution (the game doesn't seem to like 1920x1080 for some reason). Hope this helps!
