Lack of Developer Support Sad and Frustrating.
I just stopped in to see how everything was going, it's a little sad to see utter lack of developer support for this title. I remember this on the Xbox well and loved the game and was really excited when I saw that the developer was going to show Oddworld some love on the PC platform.

I got more excited when I noticed that the developer was adding 3D display support for the PS3. I had only assumed they were going to do it for the PC platform as well since that is generally how it goes. Color me ♥♥♥♥ed off when a developer personally responded to me telling me it was only a test trial with 3D displays and the PC platform would not be getting the feature.

So what do we have? A re-done "HD" version of the classic, missing features from the console versions, along with apperently a ton of bugs that make the game near unplayable for a lot of people on the PC platform.

I don't know if I am the only person who feels this way, but the Oddworld crowd is generally a very close and very awesome group of people who managed to garner enough intrest in order to re-awaken this franchise, only to have a bunch of dunderheads bumble with it and show almost no love for the PC platform.

They were talking about releasing a new Oddworld game at some point last year, but with their behavior and the utter lack of respect and support for the PC crowd here, I doubt I'd be willing to invest any more money with these folks.

Enjoy the game (if you can), but if you have the resources I'd suggest anyone looking into playing the game, get it for the Xbox instead and enjoy it as it were and not how it is now.

I've encountered no problems on the PC most of them are tailored to AMD systems as far as I know. About the 3D aspect though. I'm glad they didn't spend time implementing it. I would never invest in 3D and I'm sure the 3D fad will be ending soon. It seems like a lot of talent wasted that could be spent adding actual gameplay features instead of silly gimmicks.

I run strictly a AMD system so I know what you mean, I havent had a problem, but that's not to make light of all the people who DO have problems with it.

As far as 3D goes? I disagree with you, I love 3D and heavily invested in it, not only that, Ive known people who have been saying since 3D first started coming out that it was a "fad" and it's still around, as a matter of fact you see and hear about more and more stuff coming out with it.

I understand that might not be your thing, but don't ♥♥♥♥ on other people's intrests. As far as wasting time on it, I doubt that they would have spent much more time on it if they already did it for the console versions.

They dont have recources to put into fixing them. After the 22nd of this month their new oddworld game New 'n' Tastly is comeing out and they will begin working on patching older oddworld games. Sorry but they arent a large company with a lot of people working on one thing and they decided to invest in the new game before patching the ports for the old. It is frustrating but not sad, companies do what they have to and what they feel is the best thing for them to do. If they had more people to work on them and more money to invest time into the patches they would have already. It should have been done right in the first place but what are you going to do someone made a mistake and couldnt afford it. I agree its frustrating and it sucks but insulting the devs isnt going to do anything other than stop a potential buyer from buying a starving artists painting. What you dont understand is that in the end they are a company trying to make money so they can pay the people who make these games so they can eat and live.
