Warhammer 40k DoW II is a moba like twist on the beloved origonal DoW franchise, for some it will be a welcome change, for others a turning point to other games.
As an fan of the old DoW game / expansions i found that this was a wierd yet intriguing change for me, the game focuses less on base building (all you can build is generators and you can upgrade your main base, thats it) and focuses more on the constant exchanging of forces and holding capture points.
For people who are used to the general combat of games like Star Craft II this will be similar to how you DoW II runs with no base building and a focus on controlling points. the big focus for this game is control and managing your units effectivly. this can be appealing to some and off putting for others
so in general i would say if you want the old DoW game then give this a skip, but if you want a Warhammer 40k game similar to Star Craft II then id say go for it
**i have played Star Craft II, im no pro or anything and i dont know 100% what im talking about so this is just a general view i can give and comparision from to 80+ hours ive played**
