Make opening cutscene skippable?

Having put this on several computers over the years, it'd be nice if the new steam update let the opening videos be skipped on a new install.

I think I read somewhere that if you just remove the video files (I don't know the location, sorry), they get skipped. You could try by renaming them and see if it works, then rename them back to their names.

It was easier in DOW1. You just needed to add a flag (not sure if "-novideo" or something like that) to the .exe.

I just hit the 'ESC' key.
Works on Intro, as well as Cut-Scenes.

So easy, even a caveman can do it :D

No, there is in fact no ESCape.

The part you missed was "On a new install." Press any button you like, even mash the keyboard with your neanderthal club; you are watching that opening movie if you haven't run the current install yet.
