1... 2... 3... KICK IT! (Drop That Beat Like an Ugly Baby)

Create Your Own Ugly Baby Levels!
We're opening up our dev tools so that you can code up your own levels! Some time ago, RoadCrewWorker created a mod: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RBAGQqCKoc

If you're comfortable around Python, you can too:
  • Enter Dev Mode: From the Ugly Baby screen, type "ichiro!" (no quotes). When you hear the guitar riff, you've unlocked dev mode.
  • Find the UB Folder: Open up your Ugly Baby script folder (typically something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\123kickit\Supersculpt\Supersculpt.)
Script: Edit City_Player_Mod_v1.py in your favorite text editor.
  • Play your mod!: Pick any song, and jump into your level.
Notes:
  • Changes: If you want make changes while the game's running, pause the game, edit the script, save it, and hit retry from the pause menu to reload your script.
  • Learning: We've heavily commented City_Player_Mod_v1.py, so mess around with it. If you need to revert to a backup, check the Secret folder.
  • Dev Mode: You can type "ichiro!" at the title menu or restart the game to turn it off.

You can create entire visualizers, animate pieces, and build new challenges. Give it a try -- we'd love to see what you can come up with!

Does that mean I need to learn how to code now? Hmm...

What are you waiting for? I mean, who wouldn't want to replace everything with trucks?

This was hilarious! Thanks for taking the time to make this. For the time being, I wouldn't try messing around with falling velocity, or the rail code. Take one of the patterns that are showing up in a song, and start tinkering with that. If you can't tell what patterns are showing up, you can change the pieces to special colors in each pattern, and they'll start sticking out.

Alright, here's my fruits from 15 minutes of messing with the code. Although I surely wouldn't decline, don't feel obligated to give me an extra copy :P. I like the idea of it going to someone who does something really cool/creative.

That's a pretty good way to test a new custom visualizer, right?

Can you include a uncompiled catalog.pyc so that people making the level can change the blocks used more easily instead of just doing a guess and check?
