Never ending patrol

I've been patroling the East China Sea for about 20 days now and have still gotten no feedback on what to do next. I already sunk some escort ships like the objective said and have sunk like 15 merchant ships totaling to +50,000 tons. I sent many status reports and still nothing new pops up. What should I do?

I heard that you need to stay withing a 40 mile radius(use the little two pronged divider tool thingy in the naviogation screen to measure it out) of the destination for 48 hours to trigger the mission accomplished.

Yeah I ended up doing that and it worked the 2nd time. Its actually 100 mile radius.
