MAKE A REAL GAME, PLEASE
Silent Hunter is one of the best games I have ever know. For me SH5 always in my personal TOP-20 Legendary Games Forever. But SH5 is not working now. I cant play in it. I was loose all of progresse. Its offlining, laggins even on my hi PCs. I get the several same copy of SH5 and not one was normally worked.
So, I gone to the russian forums and meet there a really lots of funs of SH5, even from real submariners. And a lot of us have a huge problems with SH5.

The question is< Will you, devs of SH5 fix SH5 or can you make a Great new SH6?
I am sure, a millions will want some game like that.

The development team behind SHV is no longer working on the game, Ubisoft kinda abandoned the whole thing in general.

Also, I would not count on SH6 either, Ubisoft recently released a crappy free to play Silent Hunter title awhile back and that is about as far as they are willing to go sadly, they don't think that there is a market for Subsims anymore.

Most strange is "they don't think that there is a market for Subsims anymore.". If there is such "markets" for anything, exept subs. I am sure that a lots people dreams about great subsim. Really great. Like sh 1-5 in that time.

It makes me sort of sad that SH isn't going to be furthered anymore - (for me, SH:IV was the prime of the series) At least I'll always have the goodies to fall back on when I get that hunting itch again.

Fantastic news? http://www.silenthunteronline.com/

Beta for a Silent Hunter Multiplayer game. For you nautical nuts like myself who want to take your tactics against the world? This looks like it's it. I'll Fill out more after I figure out more.

Sadness. It's a browser game.

I'm going to quote a friend of mine he says "The market for video games is for a younger audience the older crowd like us eventually either gets stuck with what we had to learns to like the new." So yeah subsims, sim games that reuire great depth, historic games are pretty much all gone. Younger generation for the most part just likes graphics, twitch shooting and calling each other names.

Unfortunetly, Garrett is right.

The younger gamer generations of today are idiots, and so are game companies marketing divisions.

However, despite that, there still is a market for naval combat games (not just SubSims, I love cruisers) in the older generations as well. If someone took a poll of everyone who had ever played SH 3-5, and asked if they would like to see a good (imagine that last word in italics and underlined multiple times) SH 6, I would bet it would be an overwhelming yes, in large numbers. And besides, if I had to suggest something regarding the namecalling, twitch-shooting squeakers, look at what War Thunder pulled off. Arcade mode for kids who think dive bombing in a Wellington is a good idea, or holding down the trigger at a mile away to see if you hit something. Realistic and Simulator modes are for people who actually try to fly their planes and have a decent dogfight, rather than type KAMIKAZE into the chat and accidentally run into the ground. Something like that might work.

This. Exactly this.

While I have a great adoration for many new games that are coming onto the field and that are beginning to elaborate on the sheer possibilities of the current generation processing capabilities, many of them are falling short. They do no ask for thinking, they ask for reaction. They do not ask for intelligence, they ask for agility. The one that moves faster wins, in many cases.

Unlike War Thunder, as you already proposed as an example. War Thunder is the sort of compromise that I hope more games begin to adopt. It allows the flexibility to go from arcade fun to realistic, precision tactics. My only qualm at all about War Thunder is the lack of infantry forces - otherwise the game allows for many prime, immersive experiences that have you relying on more than just your quick twitch mouse control.

By an extension, another fantastic simulation game is ARMA 3. It's modules and mods presented by the community, coupled with the already fantastic array of button controls and vehicles, allows for a great and, again, immersive experience. By far, my two recommended simulation games are War Thunder and ARMA 3. (ARMA 2 and DLC included, as they are fantastic as well.) If you're looking for a real, thoughtful experience and tactics, these are the cream of the crop.

while this post is old they say "Theres no sub sim market" well technically I can see that being true but its not 2010 anymore. The technology has come a long way we can do more then just a sub sim why not add fleet ships? Iowa, Fletcher, Kongo, Bismark and more. While still keeping subs keep it open. Grant then its no longer Silent Hunter turns into more of battlestations game I know but we can make it ultra realistic unlike that game. Then again thats just my idea on how to get this genre back in.
