Is there a mod that allows you to play as Japanese subs?! (hopefully with Japanese voices too..)
So too bad they made a pacific theater SH game, but don't even allow you to play as the Japanese. I know there is U-boat missions pack which I have as well, but I would love to play as the Japanese.

Any mods that allow for this? Also preferably with Japanese voices too if possible.

If there is not, then I think it is pretty sad there is no Japanese ww2 sub games out there...

The only one I know of that allows you to play Japanese and as a Sub is the Battlestations games, but those are hardly sub sim orientated... more like an arcade game...

I did a quick search at subsim.com and found this: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=141869 I didn't read through the whole thread, so I'm not sure how close it is to being released. There may be something else out there, but like I said, I just did a quick search.

I don't think there's any love for those midget subs. Sad face.

The intriguing part is that the IJN did send several of their larger B1-type subs [ bigger than the German Type VIIs ], as far as ports in Occupied France in 1942 and 1943. Mods could include these B1s with Japanese crews hunting Allied shipping in the Atlantic and off the eastern US.

True Anderson , but with such a mod, at least in theory, one could cover the entire globe in order to operate in any ocean. The B-1 was the standard Japanese boat, long-range, of which there were a bigger variety than what the Germans had. Yet they had only limited success against the overwhelming might of the US Navy, where the Pacific, even by late 1942, was well in the process of becoming an allied lake. Historian John Keegan [ ''The Second World War '' ] observed that no other branch of the military in any war fought in the mechanized age, was as successful as the US submarine service of WWII in the Pacific. Wish that UBISOFT could have done a better job on the vanilla version, however. [ through the TRIGGER MARU mod makes up for alot ].

Oh, maybe Ubisoft will return to these series once they are done (hopefully this decade) with Asssassin's Creed?

Ah, anyway. Guess it's just up to indie developers and modders to make the game they want.
But it's still amazing the quality that Silent Hunter games have.

Alguém pode indicar onde achar mod Typhoon para SH 4?

The only thing about Japanese subs is that historically they did not attack allied shipping. The Japanese Navy largely regarded them as capital ship hunters and didn't send them after commerce. That being said, who doesn't love a little a-history
