DEFCON 2 Additions
If there was a DEFCON 2, what additions would you like to see?

Changes to existing system:

Territories divided by country instead of their position on the globe. It's kind of odd that North Korea is automatically allied with South Korea, for example.

The ability to send bombers from 1 airbase/carrier to another. I've ended up with having an airbase with bombers and no nukes while another airbase has nukes but no bombers left, so both are wasted instead of sharing.
EDIT: Actually, maybe I can do this. The way to do so just isn't as intuitive as it should be

Improved AI, both for the bombers (don't fly into a city about to be nuked you fools!) and the actual computer players.

More fundamental changes:

Separate anti-air and missile silos into 2 separate things

Multiple types of anti-air and missiles

1) real cold war territories - USSR+Warsaw Pact+Cuba vs NATO / or Russia/China/USA without Africa or South America
2) 2 submarine clases - with nuke and hunters without nuke
3) Plane landing
4) Air carrier anti submarine mode off/on
5) fleet can go throug Bering Strait
6) add Arctic - submarine can travel under ice and launch nukes from north pole, but fleet cant
7) fix fleet movement near islands
8) nuke flight time (so I can synchronize nuke landing when launch them from different places)

All of what you have said plus a Complete Launch button of some sort, so you could press it and wait a longish time and all of your silos fire simultaniously.

How about a preplan button - you can choose what your fleets want to do before DEFCON 3 and just do it instead of micro managing.

A way of making custom maps more easy - eg. the host could redraw countries to fit different timelines.

A redelopment option in DEFCON 4-5 were accidental placements can be redone.

Also a workshop so that you can have more people modding - the whole cold war terriories mod can be found on the DEFCON modding formus which only a few people actually use.

I think there should be a retaliation button, so that if you were hit by a nuke from one enemy, you then launch all of your nuke at all of that enemy's cities, so you should destroy one enemy but leaves you with no nukes.

Definitely. That sounds fantastic. And couple the retaliation button with the ability pre-plan and synchronise your launches (for the 'retaliation').

Land units that you can use to capture and fortify cities and airbases with ofcourse. Maybe mobile AA and even mobile SRBM platforms too. And ofcourse fallout clouds that slowly kill anything inside.

Na I think in the context of a nuclear war you wouldn't really use land units. I myself thought that was a major issue but I realised that it doesn't make sense to do so.
