DEFCON mods not working on mac steam

anybody know how to get DEFCON mods to work on mac steam? I've tried making a Mods folder under ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Defcon but it doesn't work.

Not entirely sure, but it could be a problem with file/folder ownership and permissions.
Navigate to your game folder and do smth like:

chown -r ./mods <your_user>:<your_user_group>

chmod -r ./mods 755

Note: replace <your_user> and <your_user_group> with the correct vaules. And it has been awhile since i used a mac, so the parameter order might look different...
