Connection to the Host Has Been Lost
Ok, I was able to join a match with some friends yesterday and the day before, but, now, I can't. I keep getting the message "The connection to the host has been lost." I have checked the integrity of the game cache a few times and have had 4-5 files that failed to validate. Steam fixes them, but I still can't join a match. It's not a router issue, and I have uninstalled and re-installed the game. Still no luck in joining a match.

This usually happens when latency is too high (> 150) between servers and clients. Maybe you could try on another game and see how much ping do you have? Was the server hosted by your friends or was it a random online server?

It was a friend hosting. I have tried a random match with the same results. And the ping was < 50

Maybe your connection is unstable. You could try taking a pingtest ( in order to know that. Do you have problems on other online games as well? Are you using wi-fi or an ethernet cable? Did you change anything regarding your connection recently (firewall, antivirus, network/router settings) ?

Ran the Pingtest, 0 packet loss, 31 ms ping, 6ms jitter, line quality rating of A, so no problem there. I'm connected by ethernet cable and haven't made any changes regarding my connection. I've been trying a multitude of different things, but I'm still having issues with Vegas 2, my other games run perfect online.

Have you and your Friends use Evolve:

One person creates a party and the others join. This creates a virtual lan. Leave the Party open or minimize it as closing it will disable the virtural lan. You can set the Party on Private which is invite only for your Friends. ;)

Then one person hosts a Lan game and the others join.

Done & done.

Also consider trying the Frosty or Realism mod at For Story co-op with more than 2 players I find the Frosty mod to be really good.

There is even an up to 16 player co-op mod / Terrorist Hunt with an option to add up to 99 Terrorists! Link:
