There is only one way to work around this problem, and that's to avoid the RSV servers altogether and instead set up a LAN connection with an other person (through Hamachi or Tunngle)

I've seen a guy who posted a few days ago with this problem while on LAN, which is surprising if you consider it should only happen when trying to log on Ubisoft authentication server (which is not needed for LAN).

But that was probably an exception so yeah, your suggestion should definitely do the trick!
