What about achievements in Uplink?
Hello, Steam. Why not to make some achievements in game? In example:
Collect 5'000'000 credits
Hack an ARC Local Area Network
Be an Expert (and another ranking-related achievements)
And many, many another (completed special missions etc...)

I would really love to see something like this implemented!

It's a really really old game, though.

The game developer always makes the achievements, Steam give them a development kit to show them how to implement the game into Steam's overlay, but that's it.

The game is almost 10 years old. Even Half Life 1 don't have achievements, so valve can't make miracles I guess.

I know that this might be a longshot, but...

Last Freelance Hacker: Allow the story to resolve itself without interference from the player
Not Terribly Interesting: Erase all record of your existence
If You Love It So Much: Keep a file you probably shouldn't have beyond when you should have deleted it
Why Don't You Marry It? Return the file you probably shouldn't have back to it's creator
You Idiot: Run a file you were repeatedly told not to
Really?: Destroy someone's life
DEATH OR GLORY!: Perform a bank hack for personal reasons and survive

(Yes, I know that Uplink will probably never have Achievements, but it's kinda fun to make up achievements)

If uplink would have achivements you would be constantly reminded of that you are playing a GAME, that would destroy the paranoia in it

I've had games not tell me when I've got an achievement until I've closed the game. If they ever DID do more achievements (What do you call the awards you get when you finally get caught/end the internet?), perhaps not having the overlay popup when you get a Steam Achievement.

Of course, this is all theoretical, since Introversion don't really want to bother with a 12 year old game. If they did, I'd prefer them add more virii or even a virus construction system than some cosmetic "Hry, you did something! Have a picture!" stuff

Makes sense, but introversion probably wont add them anyways since they are working on prison architect
