No files to copy?
So, I got a mission to hack into a local access network (LAN) and copy data from there. No problem, I hacked into bank and stole 1 400 000 dollars so I got pretty much ultimate setup.

Anyway, I get to the end computer and... there is nothing there. No files. Nada. Zip. Empty as space. Devoid of data. Nothing.

So I check through console and see that... yeah, entire system is empty, apart from one sys directory and that one has system files only.

So, anyone else met this sort of thing? Is it a bug, or a feature? I would assume some other agent might have destroyed data before, but I have never really met active agents in the game, I more or less assumed that the game generates needed log files and other stuff as needed for the missions.

I am thinking abandoning the mission, I can't complete it without data to copy.

Unfortunately, an NPC hacker or yourself from a past mission already destroyed the file and log databases.

In this event, you simply grit your teeth, abandon the mission, and hope to God they don't tell your boss about it (you don't want an email that reads 'Uplink WARNING').

It really, really sucks when this happens.

Yeah, guessed so. Never happened before, so I wanted to ask just to be sure.

Then again, I never liked steal data missions. Destruction is so much easier.

It takes too long to get the memory to do them, to me. Hardware and gateway upgrades are always on the backburner for me, for rushing the ConnectionAnalysis/Bypassers and LAN tools are more important to me.

One bank hack solves all the money problems :P

Never really needed it. All the negative-leaning missions give me enough of the money I need to do things.

This happened to me one time, with no files to copy. ♥♥♥♥ed me off.
