Uplink Achievements
So I was just jamming for a bit since a friend bought this game for me and was wondering...

Since Uplink has a whole load of those in-game achievements such as getting into the Introversion server and the rest, and it's definite that the game has been repacked (seeing as the Steam download is a whole 9MB compared to the 400MB+ version I used to jam), would there not be any way to integrate these achievements with Steam?

Would be so sick to have an Uplink badge for them too with the image of a processor or something. :D

Maybe. I believe the developer, Introversion, might have to be contacted to request their page be updated with the achievements.

Would be pretty cool, just one of the random thoughts I had while playing :) I'll email Introversion later about it and see what happens.

They've already stated they're not interested in an Uplink sequel and I guess Prison Architect is keeping them too busy to update their first game.

Well, adding Steam achievements is trivial thing, it's not creating another game.

Yea I didn't enquire about another game, just if there was some way (or any hopes of for that matter) of having achievements integrated into Steam :P

It's far from trivial, especially for an indie developer working on their next game. It requires more code to be written and patched into the game so Steam is told when you've got an achievement and new graphics need to be created for the achievements.

I have to say that I like that idea very much. They already have DEFCON and Multiwinia achievements, so I guess it shouldn't be so hard. Also, Introversion offers purchasing the Source Code off their website. I don't see why somebody can't add that code in and send it back to them with a request to patch it in.
