How the do you use an engineer to reprogram?
I can't figure this out, and the developers figured it would be a good idea to include no instructions on how to do it.

I ♥♥♥♥ing hate when developers don't tell you how to do stuff like this. Whenever making a program you should always assume every user is an idiot and include instructions.

I am in the first level, and if anybody has any other advice that could help me now or later I would appreciate it.

Well, they do tell you, it's just that you have to be a little patient with the engineer to work.

First, hit F2 to create an engineer at either a control tower or near an active squad. Then move it close to a control tower or whatever you need to control and it should automatically start to reprogram. Reprogramming has priority above all other tasks to the engineers.

I felt like this the first time I played it. I dropped the game on the first level about 5 or 6 months ago because there were no instructions and I didn't have the foggiest what I was doing. However I picked it up again yesterday and I'm loving it- just google any questions you have.

Dr. Sepulduva does give some instructions where you have to figure out a few things before you completely get what he's saying. Such as the radar disks. I didn't know you had to adjust the second one to beam back on the second level. xD

Thanks for the help, I saw the engineer sitting around the tower but I figured he was just playing with himself or something instead of reprogramming. I will try to just let him chill there next time I play.

If you want to know what an Engineer is doing, check out the text in the Task Manager. Under each engineer is a status of what it's doing, usually 'idle', 'collect', 'return', 'goto', or 'reprogram'

I normally just learn to play by trying things to see if they work, sometimes I'll even learn things you can do before there is an instruction or tutorial for it.
