I'm very intersted to know this as well. If it supports a 360 controller I'm sold, but if not I will never end up actually playing this.

Same.

The game came out before the X360 pad became the PC standard, so keyboard and mouse (unless you use MotionJoy or something similar) are the only way to play the game.

So:

I got Win 8.1 and Xbox 360 wireless.

The gamepad works, but needs to be configured in the ingame menue. I haven't tested it thoroughly, but running around and using the four main buttons works.

From the graphics I needed to disable the fog, as it was worse then a foggy autumn morning in Cornwall. But apart from that the game still looks great. And if you have a 16:9/16:10 screen it doesn't stretch but give you those black borders on the max resolution (1200*1600).

BE AWARE:

I only tested it for literally five minutes.

I don't mind the graphics being less than stellar, does the controller work well? I would love to get this but there's no way I would play it with a keyboard.

I honestly think the game still looks great. But I only played the first few steps (literally five minutes). Its been ages since I played the game (ten years probably), so I don't know if you need more then five buttons. But I could easily map those on XYAB and "back" with no issue. Couln't try "rewind" due to beeing to early in the game, but the other four buttons worked.

EDIT:

XBOX 360 Wireless works great

So, I gave it another go and it works great.

XBOX controller must be "on" before starting the game

Also, the ingame menu doesn't work with the pad, so it is not "big screen ready", so to say. But the gameplay is flawless.

After that, you must configure it in the ingame menu first. You can map all buttons, even the triggers. "Walk toggle" won't map, but you don't need it anyway, because the game uses analog controls. That means slightly tilted stick means walking and fully tilted stick means running. You can also map the camera on the right stick.

Also, this game feels a lot like Assassins Creed ;-). I guess that is PoP is something like the uncle or illegitimate daddy of AC...

Since you have to put them in yourself apparently, here are the xbox 1 controls http://www.videogamebuttons.com/xbox/game.php?title=prince_of_persia:_the_sands_of_time

Guys for all of you who are having resolution problems I found this link, and in a jiffy i am now playing 1920x1080. This link is directly to another post here on steam forum, and the link from there I can vouch is safe.

the 360 controller does not read while trying to set it up through in game gamepad settings! i dont know if there might be any kind of driver! ill try out xpadder and see how that goes!
Andy Mar 19 @ 5:02pm
Does not need drivers. just go into options (in game menus) and double click with the mouse, and then hit the button / direction on the X, Y axis on the pad. Works a treat. I did it yesterday.
I have a wireless Xbox pad.

The Xbox 360 controller does indeed work perfectly on this game. As Andy said, just go to the gamepad settings under controls in the options menu. Then double click the spaces and bind the buttons to the actions you want.

Note, follow these instructions for the original experience:

Special Action = Wall run, block, drink water. Bind to right shoulder (It was R1 on PS2)
Cancel = Drop down from ledge, bind to B (It was circle on PS2)
Sword attack should be binded to X (It was square on PS2)
Use Dagger = should be binded to Y (It was triangle on PS2)
Look = first person camera, set it to right trigger (R2 on PS2)
Alternate view = camera shows cinematic, informative angle. Set it to left trigger (L2 on PS2)
Rewind time = bind to left shoulder (L1 on PS2)
Reset view = center camera, bind to left stick click
Walk = doesn't need to be binded with a game pad.

Forward, Backward, Left, and Right - bind to left stick directions
Camera in, out, left, right - bind to right stick directions
