Is the combat fixed for the later games?
I cannot stand the combat for this game, it's just a test of my patience, and the pacing is also jank. Is it "fixed" in the later games?

General idea of fighting stays same for all trilogy - attacks from both right and left hands, and lot of jumping over enemies. Though, in WW or TT you no longer need to finish enemies with dagger, and there'll be more different moves. They also will be more violent.

Oh, and in TT you will also play Dark Prince, with completly different combat style (in short words: large AoE, high damage), and there will be "stealth kills" for both Princes.

I'm currently replaying Sands of Time, and don't find combat anyhow boring or something, most enemies are just "jump over and finish 'em", with some exceptions, and they just making some diversity.

Oh good, I enjoyed the combat, but I hated having to finish them.

Maybe a short "combo" will make your life easier: just jump over an enemy, one hit with sword (LMB), one hit with dagger (E) - half of enemy types are dead or close to it. Some enemies may block your jumps - just hit 'em few times in melee or hit R to slow down time. Another enemies can block your dagger attacks in mid-air - just hit them with sword attacks, and finish when they fall.

At least, now I'm at 33% and this works perfectly. Can't remember if there any enemies further who need another aproach.

The majority of the later enemies will block you if you try jumping over them directly. It gets pretty tricky; so you'll want to start jumping off the walls over enemies and then hitting them with your sword. This will knock down most enemies in one hit and then you can simply hit them with the dagger to finish them off. Using this tactic will make things much easier for you once they start throwing the groups of blue swordsmans and pikesman at you.

I'm at the prisons and they're just hammering me, but how do I jump off walls? Right click blocks so...

To jump off walls, back up to a wall with your sword drawn and an enemy in front of you. When you jump the prince will automatically use the wall to vault over the enemy in front of him.
yes the sequils have much better combat.especialy Warrior Within with its freeform fighting system. after that everything is downgraded.......LITERLY

I actually preferred the jump off walls into direct attack with sword, then into dagger stab to finish them. Loved this game.

While I hate to do this, I actually gave up on SoT because I just can't have fun with the combat. It's far too repetitive repetitive repetitive and ♥♥♥♥in impossible. So I skipped over to Warrior Within and I hope it's better.
