FIrst time playing it. it's really awesome. My only complaint is that alot of trial and error is involved( for me atleast). Otherwise it's really bad ass

I also wonder if it holds up, for whatever reason I was never interested in playing it all these years

Usually old games, especially if played on a gaming consoles long ago, controls don't work so well on PC. I purchased Shadow Man on Steam a few years ago. I played it on the Dreamcast 16 years ago and can't stand the controls on PC. So, pretty much I'm not going to waste a few bucks on this. The money is better used for modern games.

The sale is over in less than 1:30 hours, but as always, it's reoccurring.

I could say this is very accurate, the classic 2003 S.C. has always been a difficult, yet so easy to obtain a "failed mission" just by angling yourself in a unfortunate way, which arouses my interest because there isn't a lot of stealth games like that anymore, HITMAN- Contracts was a good example of that, because you could walk two feet and then someone could blow your entire cover. splinter cell keeps me nervous and on my toes, which I always appreciated even back in 2003 when I was 11. Such a great game, get's better with age.

When I last played this on the original Xbox, I was too young to be any good at it, and would usually ask my brother in-law for help on the hard parts. 10-ish years later, it's still pretty hard. It took me 5 minutes to figure out how to use the lockpick in the tutorial (ended up being my mousepad).
It has plenty of faults, but it's still pretty fun.

I just wish I could skip the damned tutorial at the beginning... Because I've write protected certain ini files I have to quit out to desktop to make any changes to config (controls etc). If I don't write protect those files I end up with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ resolution/fov/graphics.

I've seen the beginning of the damned tutorial half a dozen times already since I bought it (again) yesterday...

Chaos Theory is so much better than this it's not even funny. Can't recommend it to first timers in the series. The controls are fine, but the AI's patrol patterns are nonsensical, there's 90 degree turns everywhere, the game is straight up trial and error. Get Chaos Theory instead.

No nostalgia involved, this is my first playthrough. It's clunky, but great so far.

I'm in a ragequit period after shadows started breaking on later levels. Also, these guards are way too smart. It's not like the real CIA is this capable, huehuehue

Makes me wonder how I finished it as a kid. A lot of bugs with jumping, climbing and even falling. But still pretty fun.
