360 controller config in steam beta help

Hi I've been tearing my hair out trying to set a 360 controller congig for this in the latest steam beta build. I can't seem to save it and can never get mouse to work on the right stick. If anyone can get a decent working xbox 360 config can you please save it so I can import it into my game and see if that works . many thanks Neil

What version of Windows are you using? Because, Windows 7 or older OS required the Microsoft Xbox 360 Accessories download.

Another thing, does Windows even detect your controller at all?

I am on Win 7 ultimate 64 bit and yes windows detects my pad it works fine in all games that support pads natively and with xpadder/pinnacle etc. I do have that accessories already installed as well . Really frustrating spent hours trying to get it working in game without any success and no one else seems to be having the same problems.
