Out of nowhere...can't play the game
So I played yesterday after a reinstall. I love this game. Had to get into it again.

Everything was fine, but then today, I went to play, and Steam automatically took me to an uninstall of PhysX. I didn't understand what was going on, so just hit next repeatedly until the uninstall was complete.

Then I couldn't play the game. It requires PhysX (despite the fact that I don't use an nVidea card). So, I completely uninstalled then reinstalled. Still, the same problem. So now I can't play the game at all, and have no idea why the reinstall wouldn't fix this problem.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks in advance. Screenshot of the error I get is HERE[gyazo.com]

Have you tried installer the physx driver seperately?

I did, and also installed the legacy drivers as well.

Did this work for you? I'm having the same problem.

Man, I'm sorry. I did fix the problem, but am trying to remember how I did so. It definitely came down to something regarding the normal PhysX that would install with the game on Steam, and my attempts to download seperately, but for the life of me, I can not remember the details. My advice as a starting point would be to utterly remove all PhysX from your system, uninstall then reinstall the game.

I do remember something about installing, specifically, PhysX files from the Steam interface. I truly wish I could remember more to help. I did solve it, and it was no problem once I got on the right track, but as I said, the details escape me!
Will uninstalling ALL PhysX, hinder other games that use it?

i did not find that to be the case. Typically, PhysX, if needed, will ask. The problem I remember (the part I remember, that is), is that the Steam PhysX was literally almost a separate thing. Sorta the way it has to do a DirectX setup with just about every game. I don't know the inner workings, but I know that if you need PhysX for a game, it'll let you know separately. If it is a steam game, you can run a cache check to update the files. Unfortunately, that did not work in and of itself with GRAW2.
I really don't feel like going through over 300 games and uninstalling PhysX from them, just for one game, only to wait for it to be reinstalled whenever I want to play those games again.

I'll just uninstall the game and mark it down as another waste of money when dealing with team purchases.

man, i did not say to uninstall physX from every game. I simply said to uninstall it on the main control panel on your computer. Then uninstall and reinstall. This is a pain in the ass, I agree, but the game works perfectly, and is fantastic if you want the hardest core tactical shooter you've ever played in your life. PhysX is not the problem. It is something about the steam install of it that matters. There are instructions somewhere about how to solve this problem, I'm certain of that. If you find those instructions, you will have no issues whatsoever.
