Great, but I hope you will release this as a Steam update for the game. It would be really good.

Why don't you guys just patch the CBP3 Volume 5 (and the other ones) into the game? or did you?
BDO Nov 29, 2012 @ 10:39am
Most developers don't put fan-made content into the actual game. That's why it will probably always be a separate, optional download.

Still, it WOULD be nice to integrate these bonus packs into Steam somehow (for those who are terminally lazy) :)

yeah, why don't you patch it in game? and this is celebration? hypocrisy. happy birthday unreal tournament! we've got present for you - 66% off (!) sale and announcement (!) of community (!!) content which yu can download release somewhere else. that's way to pay honour to your biggest franchise, the one which made not only you, but shaped gaming at whole, effing icon, effin titan, your fortune, Epic. Good job, go back to your xbox crowd, make new Gears of War or whatever you do.

They could atleast add Steam Workshop, and have it there, that would be the minimum from them (Epic), if only the community keeps the game alive.

it would certainly make it much more friendly to the new comers. scrounging on the net for files can be frustrating and it's often more work than most people are willing to do just to play a new map or whatever...

Love the UT games...

Some of the responses here... lol.

Epic does not own the community content.... that's why they are not the ones distributing it, OK? Make sense? :)

One of the best franchises ever, and one of the best modding / mapping communities as well. If anyone misses out on maps + mods because they can't figure out how to go to a web site and download them, then consider this the perfect time to learn how to use a computer. Some of us remember when it was the only way to do it... you whippersnappers and your Steam Workshop, bah!! :)

For those of us who remember the phrase "Quake-killer" and all that it meant for gaming - the level of competition and hard work that different developers were pouring into the genre back then, trying to be the next big thing - this is a happy anniversary indeed. Unreal was awesome then and it's awesome now. Happy birthday, old friend!

The point in Steam Workshop is that that every mod can be in one place, and modders can gain popularity for their work, and also easy to access can't hurt.

Its not like people can't use their PC's and web browsers, but what if there is a really great mod and one day the site which contained it will be shutdown and get unsupported, i think steam and Desura too is just another place to get it from, its just these options are more solid.

And i think (just think) the CBP guys would be glad if their mods, maps, models would be patched into the game with permission of course, but who knows, maybe some of them would boycott this idea.

But we agree on one thing.
Happy Birthday Unreal!
