Found a fix to the UDP Ports Not Working

It seems that as part of the test it tries to connect to a stun server in order to figure out what sort of NAT is being used.

The problem is that the stun server it is using to test does not appear to be running :smileysad: hence the error message even when you have your ports forwarded.

What you need to do is go into My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config

Open UnrealEngine.ini in notepad - press ctrl-F to open the find dialogue and Type stun

you will see the line

StunServerAddress=www.stunserver.org

change this to

StunServerAddress=stun.faktortel.com.au:3478

That should sort that problem out

As you can see, the stun server is no longer in service. Just changing the server address to the new stun server fixed the issue completely. Change the net server to the one above, have UDP ports 6500, 7777, and 13000 forwarded in your routers settings, and you'll be able to host your own game or server.

Just thought, I'd give the info. out to you players who are frustrated by this issue as I am.

I did everything but forward the ports. But I didn't get the error message popup when I booted up the game this time. Does that mean it worked?

I guess so. I Just found this online, while trying to find out why my Port Fowarding wasn't working. After doing this, I am able to host and join game with out much of a problem.

As I have stated, I didn't find this fix, so I'm not exactly sure. I just wanted to share with player who were also having the same issue, and didn't want to use the other method, which is quite long if you ask me.
