Tbh, I'd definitely recommend just buying the whole Unreal Deal pack for like $50. I can almost guarantee that you'll wanna play the other games, and, in my honest opinion, it's a whole other experience to see how the series progressed from beginning to (this kills me) end.
Otherwise, I'd definitely get this game for $20. That, or you could look in GameStop for the PS3/Xbox 360 version for like $5 as I found it :L

Problem is that the 360 version doesn't support mods. And honestly without the mods that fix the game like mapmixer and foxmod, the game isn't that good by itself. Not to menion all the good maps that you won't be able to get.

And both of the console versions don't have absolutely anyone playing most likely. At least the PC version has a population of a couple hundred to 1k.

Why is it priced at $20?

Have you ever had the experience of browsing computer components at a big box store and thinking to yourself, "That old video card they have on "clearance" for $80 is severely outdated and only worth $10-15 at best. For that same $80 I could purchase one that's ten times more powerful from an Internet retailer."

Yeah, it's kind of like that. The sales managers that set the prices for these things don't always realize that the product simply is not worth what they are pricing it at. UT3 is now over 6 years old and it was never a hit game to begin with. In fact, it was an abject failure. However, some price-setting joker still thinks it's worth $20. It's worth $5 at best. UT3 is for online multiplayer but there are few people to play online, in which case it really isn't worth much.

That really sounds like a huge rip off. I'd recommend looking for a sale on the "Unreal Anthology", perhaps ordering physical copies of the DVDs off of eBay. At one time it sold for $2.

Thanks guys. Played the game, without buying it, not nearly as good as ut2004 imo so thats $20 saved. Unfortunately, I still cant justify buying at 15 with all the newer cheaper games and quakelive lol im cheap oh well. Helpful input though!!

Might go ahead and do this though I did see some deals in my search (heard keys were a gamble due to keygens though).

It's $20.00 so that when it goes on sale it's $5.00 . That's the way with a lot of downloads these days. It is a fun game, and the graphics have a very nice style to them (not a big fan of the gears of war models though).
This game and the UnReal Pack goes on sale quite often though, and the summer sale probably isn't very very far down the road so there is always the chance to pick it up cheap.
And if you find a mega-reduced retail copy laying around the CD-key probably works to install it from steam, it did with mine but that was quite a while ago.

imo the price for this game are still worth it. even if its released 2007 it still kicks the game play compaired to other simular games by far.

Buy it on Amazon, the CD Key can be activated on Steam. Much cheaper.

You dont want UT3 for the mods anyway..

99/2004 is better for the mods.
