As a fan of slow paced tactical shooters, I have to say this game can appeal to a lot of people. The gameplay is straight forward, and all weapons are easy to use.
The art style matches the gameplay, as a super action sci-fi style movie setting. Any other setting for it is stupid. The characters are joking and colorful... most of them, anyway. Bishop's lines are the best. So if you're that kind of person who pays attention to atmosphere, it doesn't fail here.
When it comes to gameplay, imagine the gunplay of Quake combined with the vehicles of Halo. Nothing much to say here. There are basic Source-inspired movement techniques, such as jumping with weapons and bunny hopping. There are many ways to play, but I categorize them based off their representatives from the Campaign. For example, as I'm used to games where headshots are important, I would be Bishop. Vehicles are of the standard selection: buggies, hover planes, tanks, and a heavier buggy. However, all these vehicles differ from their standard Halo inspirations. For example, the buggy has fold-out blades on the front bumper. Yeah. There are no overpowered weapons or vehicles, but I have to say that the Bio Rifle does a bit too much damage for a gun found right outside of spawn.
The creator tool is a creator tool using the same engine as the game. Not much to say.
TL;DR, It's a good arena game that tops even Half-Life 2 Deathmatch. Gameplay is fluid, art style actually makes sense, so get it if you don't suck at shooters.
