Crash to desktop after madd hdd activity .. help ?
Hello all,

Here's everything possibly related to me getting this issue .. first bit is prolly irrelevant.

I installed steam and AA3 on my laptop, which cant really run it .. tried it a bit and forgot about it again. This was one month ago.

Got me a new Win7 64bit computer. Installed it from scratch, legal.
Installed all updates for it.
Installed steam, AA3

First few rounds worked fine. Now, when I enter a map, I might get deployed or not, depending on how long that takes .. at a point my hdd starts going mad (7200 IDE) and then I get a CTD with the notification that AA3 stopped working and that I can either cose it, or search online for a solution and close it.

Any help would be appreciated .. I'm at a loss here :(

hi, i've got the same problem on Win7 and i don't know why. Have you repair it ?
It may possibly be a corrupt install. If you right click on Americas Army 3 in your library list, go to Properties, Local Files and select the Verify Local Cache button it may repair it.
good advice... if that fails make sure your drivers are updated including sound and motherboard.
Sorry for long time it took me to reply. I thought it had to do with me just having 2GB of RAM in my system. It didnt. I now have 6gb in my system, and it still CTD's .. only a bit later into the game.

It's like alt+tab, and then a windows popup telling me that AA has stoped working and needs to close crap.

I'm a systemengeneer with about 10yrs of experience .. it's not related to my installation (tested it on a clean install even (image yay)). My drivers are all updated tot latest stable version, system updates are up-to-date.

I have a system that scores 5.9 on the windows performance index ... due to a SATA disk instead of SSD, otherwise it would be 7.1 on memory or processor, or 7.5 on graphics. It should run AA3 on half it's cores afaik.

I gave up on AA for this reason .. I have no issues in other steam games either.
