Some people considered this expansion pack a total disapointment. While thats true, it doesn´t mean its bad.Infact, it´s quite the opposite.
This time, you play as Barney Calhoun, a security guard working at Black Mesa(who later in the sequel plays a more prominent role). While assisting some scientists, the Black Mesa Incident begins and now Barney, with the assistance of a scientist named Rosenberg and his colleagues, must find a way to escape the facility.Once again, the story is told in a way where you are in complete control, however, unlike the other protagonists, it is hinted that Barney does talk but we just don´t hear him.
Graphics are still the same as before. The only thing new is the implementation of the HD pack, and as I previously mentioned, you should turn it off, since it makes the game look weird.
Sound effects and the voices are still the same.Even the soundtrack isn`t new.Its just Opposing Force´s OST.
Nothing new here. The only thing worth mentioning is the armour system.Instead of using batteries and charging stations, you need to collect body armour and helmets from dead security guards.Don`t worry, you´ll find them when you them the most.Another thing is that the enemies are more balanced this time. The marines are no longer bulletsponges. They´re still hitscanners, sure, but still. The alien grunts only show up three times, and there´s only one each time. Some people might complain that it`s too easy, and yeah thats true, but at least ther aren´t any cheap enemies. In fact, I can say that I managed to beat this without using cheats.
Not much to it really, but its still an enjoyable expansion. If you´ve been scared off by the people who said that this isn´t any good, then you shouldn´t listen to them, an you should buy this. It´s only €4 and you´ll most likely beat this in 2 hours. If you think that €4 is too much for 2 hours of content, then keep in mind that the Burial at Sea Part 1 DLC for Bioshock Infinite is €15!!!!
