FOV and Game Exe
FOV command "Default_fov 106.26" is not working it just says FOV is 90. What is the correct command to set FOV?

Where is the game Exe? Have a program to modify controls but no way to link it since it seems there is no exe for this or opposing force.

The "default_fov" command is the correct command for changing FOV. I've never had any problems with it in Half-Life or any of the expansions. Not sure why you need the exe, but I'm pretty sure Blue Shift and Opposing Force use the regular Half-Life exe.

thanks, was asking because use a third party controller program and it asks to locate the exe. some reason the command isnt working in Blue shift for FOV, is it working for you?

Yeah I tried it just now and it works for me. You could try editing some of the config files to make the game start with a different FOV, but I can't tell you how to do that. I tried it, but at some point a few years ago I did something that makes the game start at a default_fov of 110. I can't figure out how I did it though.

If ever figure it out please post, tried looking at the configs etc, not sure if those are different for blue shift and half life but the exe seems the same.

The game runs Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\hl.exe -game bshift
Use the console to change the fov. default_fov (number)

This method did work for HL regular and think opposing forces but some reason not Blue Shift.

Strange... Very strange. Try to reinstall Bshift, maybe?
And why do you want to launch the game with a third party program when you can launch it on Steam?

Try hl.exe -game bshift -default_fov (number)
I recommend you to use the in game setings to configure your controller. You can use JoyToKey too.

Thanks for reply and hepp Snow. So is that in launch options or in dev console hitting the ~ key?

Tried typing in console using ~
"hl.exe -game bshift default_fov 106.26"
"-game bshift default_fov 106.26"

neither of those worked in the dev console hitting ~

What he gave you is for launch options. Although I tried setting FOV through the launch options in my game, and it didn't work for me, even though doing default_fov through dev console works fine for me.

is it with the quotes or without sorry for tech specifics but not sure if see a difference did a screenshot comparison they appear the same in both, kinda hard to tell. But this goes in launch settings to be clear?

Weird...
Just typed Default_fov 106.26 into console as other user reported and this time it worked. Pretty sure game hasnt been updated but it does seem to work now using that command in the dev console for those looking for how to set the FOV in Blue Shift.

For blue shift can confirm typing without quotes in the console does work to change the fov in the dev console opened with the ~ key as follows:
Command to change FOV: Default_fov 106.26
