Once I went back to the Reef and did all the keys, the gate opened again. I attempted to sail through, and the game crashed, probably because I had already shipwrecked, after two more attempts with crashing it actually loaded the cutscene of that happening.
Then I was on the beach where you start. It crashed when I tried to save a crewmember, probably because I had finished that quest already.
Then I teleported to the jungle, and once I ran directly to the area where the Empire Facility is (which would usually be blocked by poison gas, but wasn't now) the green summon point was usable at that spot's teleporter. I didn't even have to do the saving green hive quest a third time.
Am I doomed to never finish this game?
Sorry if you've already explained all this, I'm not seeing it.
Congratulations! It seems you found a new glitch.
When I was originally looking into what happened to mine I found other threads talking about it, but none of them seemed to be my problem. You may just need to see if you can find a savefile just past that, assuming other people's files can be used. Or maybe try it on the opposing CPU maker from what you've got - I've had things work on AMD or Intel before. Other than that, good luck. I had had my problem for months before I decided to try and solve it.
IIRC, one of the things to do was to go to where the minions stay in the tower or whatever and interact with the green hive there first. In my case it was not there, but it might be for yours. That's the only other glitch I remember.
So if anyone else should have that problem, that's how I got past it.
By starting again at the reef quest, the cinematic of the closing gates occurred. After finish the map, however, the game crash when i pass through the gate. But by spawning directly at the jungle I had the shipwreck video playing , all my quest were properly validated and my Green Minions were available.
