GFWL - this game will not survive. No longer in the steam store.
So ya, I'm hearing that as of, this next week you can no longer buy any games that use games for windows live. and july 1st 2014 they will drop support. why is microsoft abandoning PC? THEY ARE PC. anyway.
I hear some games might get patched so you can save through steam cloud or onto your computer.
anyone know what games will be patched I really hope this is one of them. I rarely find a racing game I like.

EDIT: I just checked yesterday and there is no fuel available for sale anymore.
only the demo shows up in serch and when you click that it takes you to the home page.
so ya. Sorry guys. look like this game is screwed.
A shame, since is probably the only racing game i'd ever want to play on PC. oh wait, besides Sonic Transformed. Seriously, that game is actually really really good.

oh, and fuel is dead. sorry guys. T_T

I certainly hope it gets patched. It's codemasters, so they might do it.

Unfortunately I'd have to disagree with this statement.

If you'd have had any experience with Codies' games, bro, you would be aware that CM are by far and away the worst games company out there in terms of patches and post-release support. Back in the 90s they used to be fantastic, one of the best companies out there, but in recent years they have followed the EA route of putting money far in advance of their customers.

Take the Formula 1 series of games they have made recently, for example. Both F1 2010 and F1 2011 had huge, gamebreaking bugs in their code with regard to pit stops, tire wear and tire management - bugs which, in F1 where strategic pit stops and race strategy are critical to race outcome, made the games completely unplayable for anyone who wanted a half decent level of simulation. And yet despite many complaints about these bugs on their official forums, they did not fix them. They just moved on to their next title without a care that the game they made was seriously broken for all but the most casual of gamer who used arcade settings for their racing.

No, unfortunately I hold out little hope that this game will be patched even if it were a bestselling title...and unfortunately it is not bestselling at all, sales on this game were actually quite weak compared to most titles

i believe sales are weak. this game seems to cater only to people who enjoy offroad racing, which is a small branch of racing games, and freeroam.
ya okay, i doubt it'll get patched which will seriously suck.
but, oh well.
this game is surprising fun despite how often I gett irritated with racing games. mostly just in freeroam though lol.

I doubt online will work, but I see no reason why Single player wouldn't.

So if I have this game on steam, I will no longer be able to play singleplayer mode after GFWL goes down?

possibly so. it's still a year away but ya. i'm 90% sure save files are clouded through GFWL

The saves are not clouded. GFWL does not have a cloud service. I've been through this with you in another thread. If it did use a cloud service there wouldn't be trouble transferring the save files like there is.

Come on man, get real, this information is out there for anyone to see.

okay maybe im delusional but I didnt have my save files backed up for this game. but i still have my progress.
and like I said if Im wrong about cloud then ALL you need to do is copy, paste. that's it.

I lost all progress in FUEL - >60 hours of playing - after reinstalling Windows, even though I had the save game and the GFWL folder backed up. Apparently they weren't synched with each other - or something - who knows - the upshot is that GFWL was a seriously flawed way of trying to prevent pirating, or whatever it was they were trying to do with it. I'm definitely not sorry to see it go, though it's a pity if the games that used it go down the drain with it.
